About The Demarest Co-op

Founded in 1965, Demarest Co-op Nursery School has been providing high-quality early childhood education to families in our community for over 60 years. We are located in the educational wing of the United Methodist Church at 109 Hardenburgh Avenue in Demarest, New Jersey.

Although our school is housed within the church, our curriculum is nonsectarian, and no religious instruction is provided. We celebrate a variety of seasonal and cultural traditions throughout the year, helping children develop an appreciation for the diversity of our community.

Classroom Participation

As a cooperative preschool, every family is invited to spend time co-oping in their child's classroom if they choose. While participation is completely optional, many parents enjoy the opportunity to experience a day at school alongside their child and gain a firsthand look at our program.

We also welcome family members who would like to share their talents, professions, hobbies, traditions, or cultural celebrations with our students. These special experiences enrich our curriculum and help build meaningful connections within our school community.

Our families truly are one of our greatest resources.
